June Events in Wynwood Arts District
Pan American Art Projects currently has the work of Edouard Duval-Carrie on display through June 14. The exhibit includes older pieces as well as new work to include sculptures and paintings.
The monthly Wynwood Art Walk, scheduled for June 14 this month, features many of the city’s amazing local artists. You can find three different one-hour guided tours during the Art Walk, each focusing on different creative art spaces.
The Children’s Museum will host Art After Dark on Thursday, June 19, from 6:30pm to 9pm beginning with a cocktail reception followed by artwork for sale by Bakehouse Art Complex resident artists.
Bakehouse Art Complex located in the Art Deco bakery building, has a Pancake Party scheduled for June 22 from 10am to 3pm. Guests enjoy contests, decorating, music and hands-on activities.
Wynwood Art Galleries
The Privee Gallery, at 2301 NW 2ND Ave. features an exquisite collection of contemporary art through innovative sculptures and paintings.
At the Warehouse, the Margulies Collection features seasonal exhibitions of sculpture, video, paintings, and photography from the collection of Martin Z. Margulies, along with work on loan, and special exhibits.
A long-standing point of interest, Art Fusion Galleries provides a platform for aspiring artists by pairing new and innovative art styles created through multiple mediums from artists around the world.
Miami Museums
Perez Art Museum has supported the arts in Miami since 1984. New art, paints, photography, and sculpture continue to intrigue with innovative and thought provoking artwork.
Constructed in 1914-1916, Vizcaya Museum & Gardens listed on the National Register of Historic Places and named a Historic National Landmark. Enjoy a guided tour of the estate that includes the 34-room main house and 10 acres of gardens. Renowned artist, John Singer Sargent, created watercolors of the estate during his visit in 1916.
The Miami Children’s Museum offers a mixture of education, excitement, and discovery with interactive and bilingual exhibits in its 14 galleries. The museum has scheduled activities every Saturday in June.
Art Deco District
Take a guided walking tour of Miami’s Art Deco District listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is an awe-inspiring visual display of architecture with 800 buildings built from 1923 to 1943. From glass blocks and porthole windows to smooth curves and pastel colors, the district earmarks a significant period in art history.
