Experience The Wynwood Life Festival This Weekend

Wynwood Life Festival April 25-27 Miami
#WywoodLife

What better way to enjoy your weekend than to peruse the art-filled streets of Wynwood, move to the beats of some great music, sip on a cool drink, and chow down on some tasty fare, all while gawking at live art and fashion models??

Wynwood Life Festival happening this weekend, April 25-27, 2014.  It’s a cultural street festival that will feature all of the above-mentioned fun.  This festival allows local artists, musicians, and businesses to show you what they’ve got…  And lucky for you, it’s some pretty cool stuff!

The whole festival sprang into existence based on a blog about what was happening in Wynwood and someone wanting to bring that blog experience to life.  Tony Albelo was the man behind this vision, who is also behind other big events in Miami such as the Coconut Grove Seafood Festival, Govetoberfest and Sprung.  He took his ideas for street festivals and mixed them with his love for street art, which is so prevalent in the Wynwood neighborhood.  Throw in some music, food, fashion, bloggers, and locals and it sounds like one heck of a party.

Albelo got together with famous street artist, Trek6, who has painted many walls around Wynwood, and designated him the official poster artist.  Not only will the permanent works of art that make up the “Wall of Fame” be present, as the Wynwood Life Festival is set up right alongside it between 22nd and 24th Streets, but there will be a new wall at the event as well.  This one was constructed of bricks just for Trek6’s canvas to create the official poster art.  This mural will then be available for the first 300 people to take home a piece of the wall along with the commemorative poster print.

Tonight is the premiere of the event, kicking off at 5pm.  And although there will be plenty going on all night, some of the more notable happenings include the Miami fashion blogger fashion show hitting the stage at 7pm and the performance of Baloji.  Saturday events run from 12-11pm and will also include a Fashion Show at 7pm along with several live art and music performances.  Sunday will conclude the event with the same hours, where several local favorites will own the music stage.  You won’t want to miss out on the amazing food options or the great finds from locals selling art, jewelry, crafts, and so much more.

The expected turn out is around 20,000 people throughout the weekend.  You can purchase tickets for each day you would like to attend.  Tickets are still available online until 5pm tonight (use discount code: PRESALE50 for a discount) or you can purchase tickets at the event, starting at $15 for general admission for Saturday or Sunday or $25 for tonight.  There are also combo tickets and VIP tickets available.  For more information, please visit WynwoodLife.com.  See you there!
